Course Lesson: Secret Information And How To Use It

This lesson is a brief one. It is about taking advantage of all the free information that is available online and off. It is also an invitation to subscribe to my other free courses and newsletters.You'll get real value from these "freebies," and you never have to buy a thing.

Why Is There Free Information?

You might think that if it is free it can't be valuable.This just isn't true. For example, years ago, back when most credit cards had annual fees, I received a free newsletter that told me credit card companies would often drop the fees if you simply asked. I tried this, adding the threat of canceling the cards. Three of them dropped the annual fee. It took just a bit of information and a few minutes time to save $60 per year.

So why do you see so much free information, especially online? Well, most of us honestly like to share what we know. Of course, we also like to make money doing so. Giving information away is an opportunity to introduce the reader to one's products or services. If it is information of real value, it is a way to show the subscriber that the product being sold is worth the price.

In addition, this is a way to sell other's products. For example, in the courses and newsletters I give away below, I often recomend products that I like, and I get a commission on some of them. This bothers some people, and even prompts some to unsubscribe. But why turn down valuable information just because of an advertisement or two? Would you refuse free money if the bills had ads on them? :)

Remember that newsletter about the credit cards? I don't remember if I bought whatever it was promoting or not, but it was certainly worth looking at a few ads to save $60 on credit card fees right away, and possibly hundreds of dollars over the years. The lesson? Take advantage of the free information out there (and the opportunities below). I can also tell you from experience that you should:

Pay For Good Information

I once paid $80 for a little e-book that had advice on how to rearrange the advertisements on my websites to get a better response. It was a small book that the author might have written over a weekend. Was it worth it? Well, it took a couple days to make the suggested changes to our sites, but once I implemented its ideas, our revenue jumped by about $300 per month. A couple days work and a few good ideas have so far made us thousands of dollars.

Not everything is so easy to measure, of course. I have bought self improvement books that have been very useful, but how do you measure something like that? You don't have to. You'll know if it is worth it, and, if it isn't, almost everything you buy online now comes with a money-back guarantee. An idea can change your life, and a simple paragraph can make you or save you thousands of dollars. Take advantage of free information, and pay for more if it is what you need. That's what this lesson is about.
